Good News, and Bad, From Dolphins Practice

The Dolphins returned to practice today ahead of Sunday's absolute must win game in New England.

Well, most of them did.

The notable absences took place within the LB department, as Koa Misi, Jelani Jenkins, Chris McCain, and Jonathan Freeny were all rehabbing on the side.

This is worrisome, especially the Jenkins injury.

Jenkins is by far this unit's best pass defender, especially when it comes to covering tight ends. Um, I think the Dolphins are playing a pretty good one this week, no?

So this is something that will be watched with a microscope over the course of the week, not only in Miami, but in New England as well. If Jenkins cannot go, well, this unit is going to have major problems on Sunday.

Misi suffered a hamstring injury vs. Baltimore, and was on and off the field all day. McCain suffered an ankle injury in practice last week and miss the game on Sunday all together. Freeny hasn't played in a month with a hamstring injury.

The only healthy starting LB right now is fan favorite Philip Wheeler. Gulp.

There was some good news, however, as both Cortland Finnegan and Jamar Taylor practiced today. Taylor has been hurt since the Denver game, and Finnegan hasn't played since Detroit over a month ago.

Finnegan will play on Sunday. Not my words, his. So expect at least one, if not both, cornerbacks back in the lineup against New England.
