Another huge week in the AFC, and it's off to a good start for the Dolphins, who got a boost with Kansas City losing on Thursday night. Here's how the AFC playoff picture looks right now:
5. Pittsburgh Steelers 7-4
6. Kansas City Chief 7-4
_______________________________________________________________________
7. Miami Dolphins 6-4
8. San Diego Chargers 6-4
9. Baltimore Ravens 6-4
10. Cleveland Browns 6-4
11. Houston Texans 5-5
12. Buffalo Bills 5-5
As of today, the Dolphins sit on the outside looking in. However, Pittsburgh is off this week, so this could be a critical win for the Dolphins.
As for the teams that are playing this week...
Browns @ Falcons (1:00, CBS): Pretty simple here, a Browns loss would be huge. An Atlanta win doesn't matter. Do the math.
Lions @ Patriots (1:00, FOX): The Pats hold a two game lead over Miami with next month's matchup looming. Any chance to gain a game before that would be huge.
Bengals @ Texans (1:00, CBS): This is a big time game with big time playoff impactions. The Bengals currently sit atop the AFC North at 6-3-1. The Texans, under Ryan Mallet, are coming off a season saving win in Cleveland. I say root for the Texans here, because I believe the Bengals could pose more of a threat to Miami.
Rams @ Chargers (4:05, FOX): San Diego is right on Miami's heels right now. Any time they lose from here on out will be welcomed in South Florida.
Jets @ Bills (7:00, CBS Monday): The Bills haven't practiced in a week due to the weather in Buffalo. Time for Jets to expose that and knock Buffalo out for good.
Ravens @ Saints (8:30, ESPN Monday): Baltimore travels to Miami in two weeks for a major AFC showdown. It would be nice to put some distance on them before then. Monday night at New Orleans could be a great time to start.
Picks and predictions coming up.
