Gameday: Three Keys to a Dolphins Win PLUS Prediction

We've reached week #2 here in the NFL, as your Miami Dolphins are just four hours away from kicking things of with the Buffalo Bills.

Today is a big one for Miami, for a couple reasons.

Divison game. Hostile environment. Nemisis. Respect.

Remember, as I said earlier this week, last week was a great start for this team. But what good does it do if Miami throws up a dud today?

So, how do the Dolphins get that coveted second win? GLAD YOU ASKED.

Enjoy:

1. Hold the edge and tackle: There are two reasons why Buffalo is a bad matchup for Miami. Number one is their running game.

CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson are Dolphin DESTROYERS, folks. Spiller, in particular, is just a problem for this defense. I've said it for three seasons now.

The Dolphins do not do well against fast running backs, they just don't. Not allowing Spiller to get outside, and then tackling him if he does. will be HUGE today for this defense.

2. Keep Ryan Tannehill upright: And here's reason #2 this team is a problem: Their defensive front. Yikes.

Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus, and Jerry Hughes are a fierce front four, and gave this offensive line absolute fits last year. Remember the infamous Clabo vs. Williams beatdown? Remember Ryan Tannehill limping off the field last December?

If this offense is to have a chance today they'll have to keep their QB upright, there's just no way they win if they don't.

3. Limit the misses: As I told you earlier this week, even though this offense put up 33 points last Sunday, they could have put up 50.

Dion Sims dropped a TD. Mike Wallace and Lamar Miller fumbled. Tannehill threw a costly interception. Somehow, someway, Miami overcame those mistakes, but don't count on history to repeat itself today.

Teams cannot turn the ball over three times, and miss countless scoring opportunities, and expect to win, ESPECIALLY in Buffalo. It's time to take the next step and start converting every scoring chance that presents itself, and it has to start today.

PREDICTION

I admit it, I made a mistake last week in picking against my instincts. All summer long I had Miami winning that game and losing today, that's just the way I saw it for some reason.

Unfortunately for me, I don't learn from my mistakes very well, so I'm going to go against my instincts AGAIN and pick Miami in this football game. Buffalo is NOT a good matchup for these Dolphins, they're just not. But I'm willing to believe they've turned the corner and are out to seek revenge today.

We'll see.

Final: Miami 27 Buffalo 17

Alright, folks, that's it for now. I'm traveling this morning, so don't expect the pre game blog at it's usual 11:30 time, but I should have it for you shortly after.

And, as always, follow the live, quarter by quarter blog, throughout the game.

Four hours.
