To the picks!
Week 10:
At Detroit Lions
All time record against: 7-3
That Lions offense is scary, isn't it? Between Reggie Bush, Calvin Johnson, and Matt Stafford, this is an offense that's Super Bowl caliber. The defense is a little more suspect, and that's why I have Miami putting up a good fight on the road. Like San Diego, this one is really a toss up for me. I went with the Dolphins in my last toss up, so I'll even it out here.
OUTCOME: LOSS
Week 11:
Buffalo Bills
All time record against: 57-42-1
I never like picking Miami to beat the Bills, not after what happened last season. But I think they finish them off here, at home, to complete the season sweep.
OUTCOME: WIN
Week 12:
At Denver Broncos
All time record against: 11-5-1
Easily, and I mean easily, the toughest game on the schedule this year. Going into Peyton's house and winning, relatively late in the season mind you, is never an easy task. I think the defense keeps it close by putting pressure on Peyton all day long, but in the end, I just think it's too tall of an order.
OUTCOME: LOSS
Week 13:
At New York Jets
All time record against: 46-50-1
This is the first of two December meetings with Gang Green, and the one and only Monday night game for Miami this season. I can see the Fins dominating this game like they did in last year's matchup, or get dominated, again, like they did in last year's matchup. When these two meet, you really never know, it's just, as the saying goes, the flavor of the day. Monday night, on the road, is tough, and I think the Jets take round one.
OUTCOME: LOSS
Third quarter record: 1-3
Overall record: 6-6
THURSDAY NOTES
- Some relatively big news out of New England late in the day today: Tom Brady is on the injury report.
What injury? Well, we don't quite know yet, but rumor has it that it has to do with his calf. He was not at practice today, and nothing has been said officially...YET
What does this mean? Well, I'm not sure yet. I still fully expect Brady to play on Sunday, but it is definitely something worth following as the day continues to unfold.
- As far as injuries go for Miami, LB Philip Wheeler practiced today on a limited basis for the first time without a cast on. His status for Sunday is still up in the air.
Jamar Taylor (hip), Koa Misi (shoulder), Walt Aikens (hand), and Chris McCain (hip) were all limited as well.
TE Charles Clay (knee), K Caleb Sturgis (groin), and lineman Derrick Shelby (illness) were upgraded to full participation today.
- Besides Brady, TE Rob Gronkowski was also on the Pats injury report. He was limited in practice today.
When and if any Brady news comes across, I'll let you know.
More predictions tomorrow!
3 days.
