Garrard out indefintely as Fins kick off 2012 season

News coming out of Miami this evening is not good.  Starting QB David Garrard is out at least three weeks, and possibly up to six weeks, with an apparent knee injury.  The former pro bowler is set to have arthroscopic surgery tomorrow morning to repair the knee.  This news bumps former starter Matt Moore up a spot on the depth chart, followed by rookie Ryan Tannehill, with Moore getting the nod tonight.

Whether Garrard returns before the preseason ends is still up in the air, but moving forward with the Quarterback situation will be intriguing for the Dolphins.  You have to assume Moore and Tannehill will be fighting it out for the remainder of the preseason for the number one spot week 1 in Houstan, and right now that battle is too close to call.

This preseason just got very, very interesting.

As for tonights game, I will, as always, provide a quarter by quarter blog on all the happenings from Sun Life Stadium, so come back and don't be afraid to chime in!

Football is back folks.

Thank God.
