In the battle of the second and third stringers, also known as the annual final preseason game, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Miami Dolphins Wednesday night 30-13, leaving Miami winless in four preseason games.
The Dolphins did play their starters for a brief period, however, and both units played relatively well. Ryan Tannehill looked impressive in the two series he was in, completing 5-7 passes for 35 yards. Other Dolphins who looked solid included CB Sean Smith, FB Jarvorskie Lane, and RB's Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas.
Final cuts will begin tomorrow for the Dolphins as they trim the roster down to 53 players in preparation for their first regular season game week, leading up to opening day against the Texans.
I personally expect GM Jeff Ireland to add a receiver or two (or three or four or five) before the rosters are trimmed down, either via trade or the waiver wire, so don't be surprised to see that in the coming days as well.
Keep checking back daily here at the Dolphinsider as I continue to dish out my season predictions for the Dolphins, and, as always, provide you with up to the minute news on the Fins.
Until then, I bid everybody farewell.
