ESPN's Chris Mortenson has learned that Peyton Manning has told his agent to open up contract negotiations with the Denver Broncos, and barring any complications Manning will soon join the team as the franchise's next QB.
Mortenson also learned that the team now plans on trading current QB Tim Tebow, who led them to an 8-8 record last season, a division title, and a first round playoff victory over the Steelers.
Will the Dolphins be a player for Tebow now? Two weeks ago I would have said no way, but at this point you can't rule anything out for owner Stephen Ross and GM Jeff Ireland.
Manning going to the Broncos is the LAST place Miami would have chosen him to go as this now means QB Alex Smith, who the Dolphins have already met with, could return to the 49ers and become the third quarterback to turn down Miami.
Stay Tuned.
OH BOY!
